APNED 2025 Q2 Newsletter

As we move forward to the second half of this year, support and solidarity from civil society groups have strengthened and helped our fight succeed in many ways. In this newsletter, we highlight stories of mass solidarity amid the worsening attacks and battles that our environmental defenders experience. We also spotlight the warmth of support, the solid resistance that keeps our movement alive and strong.

APNED commits to upholding its vision of strengthening the network and widening unities with more and more defenders’ organizations in the Asia and Pacific. While civil society spaces are abuzz with talks regarding climate finance, updating of NDCs, and renewable energy, we face the challenge of linking these issues with the protection of environmental defenders and asserting our voices in all platforms available to us, from our own home countries to the upcoming COP30 in Belem.
